The LA Independent Women Film Awards is dedicated to highlighting the voices and visions of women in film and media, including roles such as directors, producers, cinematographers, and writers.

In recent years, the festival has effectively screened and promoted hundreds of projects in various LA cinemas such as the Fine Arts Theatre of Beverly Hills and online through LA Independent Women. The committee supports and showcases projects that have a female producer, director, lead actress, writer, cinematographer, editor, and composer.

The festival is focused on elevating female voices and talents in media, emphasizing projects from both the U.S. and worldwide that are directed and produced by women. The fest embraces topics related to women's perspectives, destinies, life conditions, and viewpoints. The festival's mission is to offer a platform for talented female artists to gain recognition for their projects and, importantly, to provide them with industry exposure to support their craft for years to come.
