The Ex-Wives of Beverly Hills

Boldly single, unwed, eccentric, and without a permanent home, four women navigate various phases of a midlife crisis together in the 90210 area. The tumultuous household unexpectedly turns their hostess’s husband’s worst fear into a TV show. In true Beverly Hills fashion, their motto is ‘let them eat cake’… as long as it’s gluten-free.

Eda Benjakul is a three-time Emmy-nominated producer and an Emmy Award-winning director, whose work delves into themes of identity, culture, and belonging. Her documentary short "Home Restaurant" received three ‘Best Documentary Short’ film awards, was broadcast on PBS, and won Telly Awards for Directing and Social Impact. A feature-length version is set to premiere on PBS in 2026.

As a narrative director, Eda focuses on coming-of-age themes and stories about women at pivotal moments in life. Her short film "Ugly Fruit" debuted at New Filmmakers New York. She directed the web series "Shrinking Violet" and the TV pilot "Ex-Wives of Beverly Hills."

She received an Emmy nomination for "The Survivors," an L.A. Times series about Holocaust survivors, and later directed "The Last Generation," an animated short where teenagers interact with survivors to discuss antisemitism. Her historical drama "Star of Siam" was a finalist at the Sundance Episodic Lab and won a Stowe Story Lab Fellow award. She is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Television Academy.
